1. Who we are
Martyn's Law Risk Assessment is a trading name of Codeex Maintenance Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 12777967, registered office 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, VAT number GB424072231(“we”, “us”). Contact: hello@martynslawriskassessment.co.uk.
2. Business customers only
The service is sold to businesses, charities and other organisations for use in connection with premises or events they are responsible for. It is not offered to consumers. By buying, you confirm you are acting for such an organisation and have authority to agree to these terms on its behalf.
3. What the service is
We provide online tools that help you prepare for the duties in the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025: a guided questionnaire, documents generated from your answers (procedures, a staff briefing and records), staff briefing links with a short quiz, reminders and a dashboard. The Professional pack also includes a video review of your procedures by a security professional, as described on the packs page.
Paid packs are available from 15 January 2027. Before then, free tools, guides and any free founding venue access are provided as they are, and may change.
4. What the service is not
- It is not legal advice and does not create a solicitor and client relationship.
- It does not certify, approve or guarantee compliance. Only the Security Industry Authority (SIA) regulates compliance.
- We are independent. We are not approved, endorsed or affiliated with the Home Office or the SIA.
- Training records and certificates we provide are your internal records. They are not a government or SIA qualification.
- The professional review in the Professional pack is advisory. It does not transfer responsibility to us or to the reviewer.
5. Your responsibilities
You remain the responsible person, or act for them, and legal responsibility for compliance stays with you. You must give accurate and complete information, review and approve every document before relying on it, adapt it where your premises need something different, put the procedures into practice, brief your staff, and keep everything up to date when your premises, people or the official guidance change.
6. Our responsibilities
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill, base our content on the published legislation and Home Office guidance, and update our templates when the official position changes. Documents are generated from your answers, so their quality depends on the information you give us.
7. Prices, payment and VAT
Prices are shown before you buy and exclude VAT, which is added at the standard UK rate. Each pack is paid in advance for its first year. Payments are taken by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card details.
8. Renewal and cancellation
Packs renew automatically each year at the renewal price shown when you bought, unless we tell you of a change at least 30 days before your renewal date. We email you before each renewal. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancelling stops future renewals, and your pack stays active until the end of the year you have paid for. After your access ends, you can still sign in and download your documents for 14 days, so download copies you want to keep.
9. Refunds
Our refund policy forms part of these terms, including the 14-day guarantee when documents have not yet been generated. A full refund ends your pack and future renewals.
10. Your content and our materials
You own the information you give us. You allow us to use it to provide the service. We own our templates, software and guides. Documents generated for you may be used, copied and adapted by your organisation for your own premises, but not resold or used to provide a competing service.
11. Availability
We aim to keep the service available at all times but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted. We may change or improve features, provided the core of what you paid for stays available.
12. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or fines or penalties imposed on you, and our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.
13. Personal data
Our privacy notice explains how we use personal data. Where you add staff details, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to share them with us.
14. Complaints
If something goes wrong, email hello@martynslawriskassessment.co.uk. We aim to reply within two working days and to resolve complaints within 14 days.
15. Changes and law
We may update these terms. Changes that affect paid customers apply from their next renewal, and we will tell you about them by email. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
